How to play
The basics
Every day there are five golf trivia questions — we call them holes. Each one has an answer that lives somewhere on Earth: a famous course, a player's hometown, the scene of a legendary shot.
Spin and zoom the globe, then tap where you think the answer is. There's no submit button: your first tap is your shot, and it's final. The pin is revealed right away along with how far you missed.
A new round tees off every day at midnight Eastern Time, and everyone plays the same five holes, so scores are directly comparable.
Scoring
Each hole is worth up to 100 points, based only on how many miles your ball lands from the pin. The penalty is steep up close and gentler far away, so a miss by a continent still earns something.
| Distance | Points | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Right on the pin | 100 | ⛳ Hole in one! |
| 25 mi | 98 | 🟢 Eagle |
| 100 mi | 93 | 🟢 Eagle |
| 250 mi | 84 | 🟡 Par |
| 500 mi | 70 | 🟡 Par |
| 1,000 mi | 49 | 🔴 Double bogey |
| 2,500 mi | 17 | 🔴 Lost ball |
| 5,000 mi | 3 | 🔴 Lost ball |
Later holes are worth more: holes 1 and 2 count once, hole 3 counts double, and holes 4 and 5 count triple. A perfect round is 100 + 100 + 200 + 300 + 300 = 1,000 points.
Leaderboard & streaks
Finish today's round and sign your card with a name to appear on the leaderboard. You'll see the top 50 for the day, and your own row is always pinned at the top. Browse back through the last two weeks with the arrows.
Your streak counts how many days in a row you've finished the daily round. Skip a day and it resets to zero. Replaying archive rounds is just for fun and doesn't affect your streak or the leaderboard.
